Rebecca’s pedestrian accident settles for £10,000 (Lisburn)

Rebecca was taking her usual route through Sprucefield car-park on her way to work around 5am when she was struck by a car performing a U-turn manoeuvre. Unfortunately, Rebecca suffered injuries to her mid back, neck and shoulders as a result of this accident. During the incident, Rebecca went over on her ankle which became swollen and painful almost instantly. She was taken by ambulance to the Royal Victoria Hospital for treatment.

Sleepless Nights Followed Accident

In the following days and weeks, Rebecca had bruising to her tailbone and had difficulties sleeping at night. On the recommendation of a previously satisfied client, she reached out to Paschal O’Hare Solicitors to pursue a claim for compensation on her behalf.

In a fast and proficient manner, a letter claiming compensation was subsequently sent to the defendant. Liability was duly admitted by the insurance company, who invited negotiations. A medical report was obtained from a consultant orthopaedic surgeon, who felt that Rebecca’s soft tissue injuries should resolve within a period of 12-15 months.

Pedestrian Accident Claim Settles

Negotiations were undertaken and an initial offer of £6,000 was made which was rejected. The claim ultimately settled for just under £10,000, leaving Rebecca with fewer sleepless nights.
