Darren’s cycling accident claim settles for £8,500 (Belfast)

Darren was cycling citywards in a dedicated bicycle lane when a taxi turned left across the cycle lane to turn into a side road thereby causing a collision.  Darren went over the bonnet of the car and landed on the road.  He travelled approximately 10ft through the air before landing with force.  As a result of this accident, Darren sustained bruising and abrasions to the right side of his face, a cut below his right eye, bruising and swelling to his left hand with pain in his neck and shoulder.

He attended hospital after the accident and soon after contacted Paschal O’Hare Solicitors for representation. Liability was ultimately admitted by the insurers for the taxi driver. We obtained medical reports from a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, a Consultant Neurosurgeon and from a Consultant Plastic Surgeon to serve as evidence. Thankfully, the Plaintiff made a good recovery from his injuries.

The matter came up for negotiation and ultimately settled in the sum of £8,500.
