Robert’s asbestos claim settles for £25,000 (Belfast)

Robert was a maintenance painter employed by Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE). He worked at both Power Station East and Power Station West during his twenty years of employment with the company, which he retired from in the early 1990s.

The nature of Robert’s job meant that he worked extensively in all parts of the power stations. Unfortunatey, this also meant that he was regularly exposed to asbestos dust.

Robert later developed breathlessness, wheezing and a cough.

He went to his doctor to have tests completed. Due to the nature of his previous employment, the doctor ordered a number of tests, including a CT scan of his chest. This showed that he had calcified pleural plaques in his lungs which confirmed he had asbestosis.

Robert apporached Paschal O’Hare Solicitors
