Darren’s scooter accident claim settles for £10,000 (Newtownards)

Darren was riding his scooter through Newtownards when a car pulled recklessly out from a side road. Darren had no time to react as the car crashed into him, throwing him off the scooter and under the car. He suffered soft tissue injuries to his neck, shoulders and lower back. Furthermore, he hurt both knees, both ankles and suffered from psychological problems in the aftermath of the accident.

Darren contacted Paschal O’Hare Solicitors

We took a full account of what happened from our new client and sent a letter of claim to the car driver’s insurer. The driver admitted full liability and Darren was reimbursed the cost of the damage to his scooter immediately.

We had Darren examined by a consultant orthopaedic surgeon who provided us with a medical report that stated that the neck and back injuries would settle within a period of 12 months. Our client was x-rayed and it was determined that the other injuries should be excluded from the claim. However, it was further determined that Darren was now suffering from adjustment disorder that would likely resolve within a year.

We completed negotiations with the insurance provider and settled Darren’s case in the sum of £10,000.
