Jason was involved in a car accident in March earlier this year. He was driving along the A57 in Templepatrick when, suddenly and without warning, another vehicle attempted to make a right turn across Jason’s path, causing a collision.
Jason contacted Paschal O’Hare
Jason wanted to speak to a solicitor about his injuries, and a friend recommended that he contact Paschal O’Hare. Chris McAllister, one of our solicitors, quickly established that we could assist in him in bringing a claim for compensation arising out of the incident.
We immediately conducted a search of the third party’s vehicle registration in order to establish the identity of their motor insurer. A letter of claim was directed to them setting out Jason’s allegations. An admission of liability was received from the third party within a short period of time. At that stage a pre-medical offer of £3,000 was made by the third party insurer, we advised the Jason against accepting this on the basis of his ongoing physical complaints.
We arranged for our Jason to be examined by a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon. Jason was suffering back and neck pain as a result of the accident. The medical report documented the reduction of Jason’s recreational activities as a result of his injury, the Consultant was of the view that this would continue for up to 15 months.
We entered into negotiations with the third party insurer. An initial offer was made, which was rejected. We were able to negotiate a settlement of £11,000.
