passenger accident in Ballyclare

Julie’s passenger accident settles for £20,000 (Ballyclare)

Julie was involved in a serious passenger accident on Brae Park Road in Ballyclare. She was in her husband’s vehicle on June 2021 when the incident occurred. Her vehicle approached a ‘T’ junction and the driver came to a stop. Her husband could not see any oncoming traffic. As the driver proceeded through the junction, a quarry lorry (HGV vehicle) struck the passenger side of the vehicle, causing significant damage.

She was brought to Antrim Area Hospital thereafter and was kept as an inpatient with a significant degree of injury.

Julie reached out to our passenger accident solicitors

Julie was concerned about the severity of her injuries and wanted to speak to an injury solicitor. She contacted Paschal O’Hare Solicitors on her discharge from the hospital.

After consulting with James Tracey of our Belfast office, Julie was informed that whilst liability would rest with the driver of her vehicle, as a passenger, she still held a right to recover for her injuries against their insurance policy.

James arranged for Julie to attend with a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, as well as a Consultant Psychiatrist, to have her injuries assessed. Meanwhile, our office commenced the claims process against the insurer of the vehicle in which Julie was a passenger.

After the service of medical evidence, negotiations commenced, and James secured compensation in the sum of £20,000.00 for Julie. She was happy with the outcome of the case.
