Workplace Accident Claim Larne

Lester was working at a meat processing facility in Larne when he was injured in an accident at work. While stepping down from a loading bay, the concrete surface beneath him gave way. The broken ground caused him to roll his ankle and fall awkwardly.

As a result of the accident, Lester sustained fractured metatarsal bones in his foot along with a significant ankle sprain. He attended the hospital shortly afterwards and was placed in a walking boot. He later required a course of physiotherapy to aid his recovery.

Paschal O’Hare Solicitors Took On His Claim

Paschal O’Hare Solicitors acted for Lester in pursuing a claim against his employer. His case was handled by Partner Seymour Major.

We sent a formal letter of claim to the employer. Liability was admitted by their insurers at an early stage. We then arranged for Lester to be examined by a Consultant Orthopaedic Expert. The consultant confirmed that Lester’s injuries were caused by the accident at work and advised that he should make a relatively good recovery within a period of thirteen to sixteen months.

Medical evidence was served on the insurers and an initial offer of £18,000 was made. Following further negotiations, we successfully secured a final settlement of £30,000 for Lester.

Partner Seymour Major Commented

“Lester’s case is a clear example of why workplace safety matters. By obtaining strong medical evidence and pushing back on an early offer, we were able to secure a settlement that properly reflected the impact of his injuries and recovery.”
