Luke was working as a Traffic Management Operative when he was struck by a car on a section of the highway under traffic management control. The accident was reported to the PSNI. As a result of the collision, Luke sustained a head injury, three broken ribs, and a psychiatric injury.
Paschal O’Hare Solicitors Took On His Claim
Luke contacted Paschal O’Hare Personal Injury Solicitors for expert advice and support. His claim was handled by solicitor Victoria Thompson. We identified the third-party driver’s insurers, as well as Luke’s employers, and informed both parties of our intention to claim for personal injury, loss, and suffering. Liability for the accident was disputed by both parties.
To ensure the full extent of Luke’s injuries was properly documented, we arranged for him to be examined by a suite of specialists, including a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, a Consultant Thoracic Surgeon, a Consultant Neurologist, and a Consultant Psychiatrist.
Court Proceedings and Settlement
Following the medical evaluations, Court proceedings were issued and the case was listed for a Hearing in the High Court. Prior to the Hearing, negotiations were initiated between the Defendants’ solicitors and our office. These discussions resulted in a settlement of £62,500, which Luke was happy to accept without the requirement to proceed to a full Hearing.
Solicitor Victoria Thompson Commented:
“Luke’s case involved complex injuries and a dispute over liability from two different parties. By securing comprehensive evidence from four distinct medical specialists, we were able to demonstrate the true impact of the accident on his life. I am very pleased that we could settle this matter for Luke for £62,500, providing him with the closure and compensation he deserves.”
