William’s Cycling Accident Claim Settles for £18,545 (Lisburn)

William was involved in a cycling accident when he was cycling near the Prince William Road Roundabout in Lisburn. A vehicle driven by the third party collided with him and knocked him into another vehicle. An ambulance was called, and William attended a hospital with soft tissue injuries to his knee, face, head and psychological sequelae.

William searched for personal injury experts and contact Paschal O’Hare solicitors

William originally instructed another solicitor firm who sent a letter of claim to the driver and the insurers denied liability, stating that he drove into the side of the vehicle and he didn’t have lights on and wasn’t wearing reflective gear. The solicitor William instructed told him he had a minimal chance of success.

William was frustrated and searched for trusted personal injury solicitors in Northern Ireland. He instructed our solicitors to take over the matter and we obtained a police report which illustrated the fact that the third party driver admitted they didn’t see our client and he was wearing lighting at the time of the incident. The insurers changed their stance and admitted liability, and our solicitors obtained reports from a Consultant Psychiatrist as well as reports from a Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon and an MRI report on the client’s knee. We also instructed William to obtain a repair invoice for the repairs carried out to his bike to recover this as part of the claim.

Initially, the insurers made an offer of £4,500.00 however our solicitors negotiated a final settlement of £18,545.51.
