Robert was injured in a slip and fall accident when he went into McDonald’s in Belfast to get a coffee. As he was coming down the stairs when he slipped and fell right to the bottom. It was a wet day outside, but there were no wet floor signs in place at the time.
Robert suffered torn ligaments to his ankle and was put in an air-cast boot for a number of weeks. He also suffered damage to his tooth and soft tissue injuries to elbow, left thigh and left knee which resolved within a couple of months.
Robert Contacted Paschal O’Hare Solicitors About His Slip and Fall Claim
Robert found us after doing a quick Google search for best Slip, Trip, and Fall Solicitors in Northern Ireland. Our solicitors sent a letter of claim to McDonald’s and their insurers came back after a period of investigation and agreed to deal with the claim on a without prejudice basis.
We had him medically examined by a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in relation to the ankle and soft tissue injuries and a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in relation to his tooth injury. A prognosis period of 12-18 months was given for the injury.
Originally, the insurers made an offer of £8,000. However, Robert was concerned that his ankle wasn’t healing as he had hoped, and our solicitors waited until the expiry of the prognosis period to obtain a further report which confirmed the client could have some ongoing symptoms in his ankle in the longer term.
Eventually, our solicitors negotiated a settlement figure of £35,000 which the client was happy with.
