trip and Fall Claim Settles Belfast

Sophie’s Trip and Fall Claim Settles for £10,000 (Belfast)

While walking along Woodvale Road in Belfast, Sophie experienced an unfortunate fall caused by a raised tree root. This accident led to bruising and lacerations to her face, as well as knee injuries, after her head struck the ground.

Sophie Reached Out to Paschal O’Hare Solicitors

Seeking guidance on her next steps, Sophie reached out to Paschal O’Hare Solicitors, providing photographs of the tree roots and her injuries. Our solicitor Olivia Moffitt, recognising the validity of her claim, promptly opened her file and communicated with the Department for Infrastructure, who began an investigation into the incident.

Medical Assessments Revealed the Extent of her Injuries

We arranged Sophie’s examination by both a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon for her soft tissue injuries and a Consultant Plastic Surgeon for her facial lacerations. The Orthopaedic Surgeon confirmed bruising and contusion to her knees, with recovery within six weeks and no expected long-term issues. The Plastic Surgeon noted very minor scarring, which was anticipated to improve over time.

We Settled Her Injury Claim

With the medical evidence in hand, we entered negotiations with the Department for Infrastructure. Their initial offer of £7,500 did not meet our expectations. However, persistent negotiation led to an agreeable settlement of £10,000, which Sophie was delighted to accept.
