Julie’s car accident claim settles for £170,000

Julie was driving on the A75 in Scotland when a lorry coming the opposite way veered onto the wrong side of the road and collided with her car. Due to the seriousness of the car accident, she had to be cut free from the vehicle and was airlifted to a hospital in Glasgow. She was an inpatient for 10 days before being airlifted to the Royal Victoria Hospital where she spent another 10 days.

She sustained a number of serious injuries due to the car accident including laceration to her liver, bruising and lacerations to different parts of her body, un-displaced fracture of her various bones to her right hip, and soft tissue injury to her neck and shoulder.

Julie contacted Paschal O’Hare Personal Injury Solicitors

Upon the recommendation of a friend, Julie approached Paschal O’Hare Personal Injury Solicitors to pursue a claim on her behalf. Even though the car accident occurred in Scotland, it was possible to pursue the claim in Northern Ireland because the driver at fault for the accident was from there.

Medical reports were obtained from a consultant orthopaedic surgeon, a plastic surgeon, a consultant general surgeon, a psychiatrist and a radiologist. In addition, a report was obtained from an occupational therapy consultant. This report dealt with the care which Julie required in the aftermath of the accident.

Liability was quickly admitted by the insurers for the driver who caused the car accident. We entered into negotiations and the case settled for just under £170,000.
