Oliver’s Nortel Hearing Loss Claim Settles for £22,500 (Monkstown)

Oliver worked for Nortel at the Monkstown Plant for around 4 years in the late 1990’s. He focused on logistics, packing items that had been manufactured in the plant. This took part in an open planned factory, which exposed Oliver to the loud noise of machines every day during the course of his employment.

Oliver contacted Paschal O’Hare Solicitors about his hearing loss claim

Following his time at Nortel, Oliver noticed that his hearing was getting exponentially worse with each passing year. Oliver started searching for an injury solicitor who could help him with his problem. He read about our extensive experience in the field of hearing loss claims and decided to contact Paschal O’Hare Solicitors.

Our solicitors acted quickly so that Oliver could receive the compensation he deserved without delay. We arranged for him to have an audiogram which demonstrated evidence of Noise Induced Hearing Loss. When speaking with a doctor we arrange for him to see, Oliver also complained of tinnitus. A report was gathered from a Consultant ENT Surgeon which attributed both the hearing loss and the tinnitus to his time spent working in Nortel.

Liability was initially denied by defendants, and no offers were forthcoming. Proceedings were issued, upon receipt of a defence medical report we were able to successfully negotiate a settlement of £22,500, which Oliver was happy with.
