Dean’s car accident claim settles for £4,500 (Belfast)

Dean was stationary at traffic lights in Belfast in his work car when a van crashed into his rear.  The driver of the van attempted to break, significantly lessening the level of impact by a slight amount. The crash caused Dean some initial pain to his arm and wrist but soon after he began to experience further pain in his neck and back.

Dean contacted Paschal O’Hare Solicitors

Our new client discovered us online and was particularly impressed by our high number of positive reviews. We sent a letter of claim to the van driver’s insurance provider who admitted liability but queried whether an injury could have been sustained given the minor impact of the crash. We obtained photographs of Dean’s vehicle and provided them to the insurer. They showed a substantial amount of damage to the work car indicating that the heavier weight of the van caused more force to be applied to the car than had it been a smaller vehicle travelling at the same speed. We also had Dean examined by a consultant orthopaedic surgeon who suggested in a medical report that the injuries would take 8 to 10 months to fully heal.

The insurance company was satisfied by this and we settled the case with them for the sum of £4,500.
