work accident in Lisburn Northern Ireland

Tom’s work accident settles for £50,000 (Lisburn)

Tom was involved in a work accident when he was employed as a production operator in a factory in Lisburn. He was working with long packaging tubes that were held together by strapping. As he worked, he tripped and fell on some loose strapping that had been left lying there by another employee. The incident was captured on CCTV and it appeared the strapping had been left there for a few hours.

He was taken to hospital where it was determined he had dislocated his shoulder. He required an operation to repair it and subsequently lost feeling in his fingers.

Tom reached out to our work accident solicitors

Tom reached out to our solicitors after seeing one of our ads. Our partner Seymour Major took on Tom’s claim and contacted him to get more information.

Seymour sent a letter of claim to the factory and their insurers eventually accepted liability. We had him medically examined by an Orthopaedic Surgeon who advised that he had sustained a brachial plexus injury with permanent scarring from the operation and that he would have some permanent loss of movement and may have some permanent loss of power and sensation in the area.

Initially, the insurers made an offer of £20,000. Seymour negotiated a figure of £50,000 which Tom was happy with.
