Will’s work accident settles for £13,750 (Newtownabbey)

Will was involved in an accident at work in Newtownabbey.  He was employed to conduct machine maintenance at his company. On the date of the accident, Will was ascending a set of steps to access a machine, when suddenly he slipped and fell.

At the time of the accident, Will noticed an oily substance on the steps which caused them to become slippery. He also noticed that the steps had no grip or anti-slip surface.

Will reached out to our work accident solicitors

After the accident, Will contacted Paschal O’Hare Injury Solicitors to enquire about whether he could bring a claim against his employer. We spoke with him and quickly established that he had a case to pursue.

Following our initiation of a claim, Will’s employer’s insurer accepted liability after their investigation. We secured Will’s hospital records and arranged a consultation with a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, who confirmed a rib injury with an expected recovery period of 18 months.

As negotiations with the insurer unfolded, their initial settlement offer of £7,500 was deemed insufficient. Our persistence in negotiations led to a settlement of £13,750, which Will was happy with.
