Craig’s accident at work claim settles for £8,000 (Belfast)

Craig was working on a building site where he was carrying a 5m skirting board. Whilst he was carrying the skirting board, Craig stood on a manhole cover which had not been fitted properly.

The manhole cover pivoted and flipped under Craig’s weight. The edge of the cover crashed into his shin, giving him a deep laceration where it came in contact with his lower leg. Craig was in need of 5 stitches and was left with permanent scarring. Understandably, the heavy metal grate crashing into the shin bone caused Craig considerable pain.

Building Site Accident Compensation

Craig contacted Paschal O’Hare Solicitors having recalled reading positive online reviews. He appointed us as his representatives and we began the claims pursuit process on his behalf. Liability was admitted by the contractor who incorrectly fitted the manhole cover. We obtained a medical report from a consultant plastic surgeon to correctly determine the level of compensation that Craig deserved.

Following a brief period of negotiation with the building site’s insurer, we secured a settlement £8,000 for Craig.
