Gary’s accident at work claim settles for £32,500 (Belfast)

Gary was working for a sub-contactor in a power station.  He was resting on a stairwell outside of his work area when an employee of another sub-contractor accidentally dropped a scaffold pole from above him.  Unfortunately Gary could not move in time and was struck on the neck by the scaffold pole.

As a consequence of this accident Gary suffered a neck injury

Gary’s neck, shoulders and lower back were injured as a result. Due to the nature of the injury he also developed headaches and dizziness which persisted. In light of his injuries and the strenuousness of the work found in his profession, he was unable to return to work for a period of 6 months.

Gary contacted Paschal O’Hare Solicitors

Legal proceedings were initiated against the company who employed the person responsible for dropping the scaffolding pole. We obtained medical reports from a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and a Consultant ENT Surgeon which showed the extent of our new client’s injuries. Upon receipt of the reports, the company admitted liability and we entered negotiations with them. Ultimately, we settled Gary’s case in the sum of £32,500 which included loss of earnings.
