Adam’s accident at work settles for £12,500 (Newtownabbey)

Adam was involved in a work accident while he was employed as a cleaner in Newtownabbey. He was cleaning a machine when the locking mechanism failed causing him to fall and sustain a laceration to his right forearm requiring five stitches. Due to the seriousness of his injuries, Adam had to attend the Royal Victoria Hospital for treatment.

Adam reached out to our work accident solicitors

Adam was concerned about his injuries so he decided to contact Paschal O’Hare Personal Injury Solicitors for assistance.

Once Adam consulted with one of our solicitors, a letter of claim was directed to his employer. Liability was admitted by the third-party insurer.

We arranged for our client to be examined by a Consultant Plastic Surgeon. We gathered our client’s hospital notes along with GP notes and records and provided these to the Consultant who produced a report detailing the nature and extent of Adam’s injuries.

After medical evidence was served, negotiations commenced between the third-party insurer and our office. The third-party insurer initially offered our client £2,000 which was rejected. We were able to negotiate an increased settlement figure of £12,500 which Adam was very happy with.
