hearing loss claim Monkstown

Victor’s hearing loss claim settles for £11,250 (Monkstown)

Victor worked for Nortel at the Monkstown Plant in the early 2000’s for 10 years as a technician and subsequently an engineer. He spent the vast majority of his time on the noisy factory floor exposed to noise from loud machinery. He was not provided with ear protection.

Victor contacted Paschal O’Hare Solicitors about his hearing loss claim

After his time at Nortel, Victor developed issues with his hearing and tinnitus which bothered him a lot. Consequently, he began looking for a solicitor to assist him with his situation. Upon learning about our considerable expertise in handling claims related to hearing loss, Victor opted to reach out to Paschal O’Hare Solicitors.

We opened a case for him and had an audiogram test carried out which appeared to show evidence of noise induced hearing loss. We then obtained a report from an ENT Consultant who advised that they felt that 85% of his symptoms were due to noise exposure and graded him as having slight hearing loss and moderate tinnitus.

Our solicitors issued proceedings against the insurers for Nortel who obtained their own defence medical report and their expert disagreed with our medical expert, saying that in their opinion, Victor’s symptoms were due to natural causes. We obtained a hearing date from the court and the case settled on the day of court for £11,250.

For over 50 years, our solicitors have been helping people across Northern Ireland make industrial deafness claims. If you’re experiencing hearing loss after working at Nortel, don’t hesitate to contact Paschal O’Hare Solicitors at 028 9031 3613 today.
